I used this to power two eight-foot lengths of the cobalt blue LED strip. I cut the connector off of the low-voltage cord and wired it to a barrier terminal strip from Radio Shack, then wired the LED strips to the other side of the terminal strip.
I also added an in-line fuseholder and fuse. The power supply does not appear to have internal short protection.
It would be nice if it also had mounting ears to screw it to a mounting surface, but I didn't really need that for my application.

Plastic outer casing is durable; nice/strong strain relief for (12-Volt) output. Unit is well adequate for powering a reel (16-ft) of the ColorBright Bright White LED strip (600 LED's)...barely got warm to the touch after a continuous 2-hour test.
Purchasing LED power supplies should not be an expensive obstacle to your lighting project. This UL listed 6 amp LED power supply is suitable for most small and medium LED strip light projects. This power supply is small and can be hidden under cabinets, inside cabinets, behind the sofa, or under a desk. Installation is very easy with DC female coaxial connectors and LED strip light solderless connectors.
Once you have chosen your LED strip light brand and length desired, you will need a power supply to power your lights. Don't know which LED flexible strip light power supply you need? Look at the graphs below or visit our CHOOSING YOUR POWER SUPPLY page.
NOTE: Remember, an electrician should be consulted before any installations. Household current can be lethal. Be safe. :D
