Cosmo™ Mounting Channel Kit - Surface Installation
Flexfire Channel Kits are designed with you in mind to ensure that your strip light lives a long, healthy life. By acting as a heat sink and providing a barrier from dust and debris, aluminum channels can extend the life of your strip light while also making maintenance simple. The channels can be mounted on practically any flat surface to give your project the finished look it deserves.
The Cosmo™ is a surface-mounted channel compatible with most of our LED strip lights. It is made from aluminum and creates a beam angle of 60 degrees. Its height allows for great light diffusion, especially when it is paired with the Matte cover.
Covers are available in three different diffusion levels, Clear, Frosted, and Matte. They are made of polycarbonate and are UV resistant. End caps and mounting clips are included with this product for ease of installation, and additional ones can also be purchased separately.

Q. What is a surface-mount aluminum channel? And, what’s the difference between surface mount and recessed aluminum channels?
A surface-mount aluminum channel is a protective housing that mounts directly onto flat surfaces (ceilings or walls).
Surface-mounted channels are visible and mounted on top of surfaces, while recessed channels are embedded into surfaces for a hidden appearance.
Q: What LED strip sizes fit in this aluminum channel?
The Cosmo™ channel can accommodate standard 8-12mm wide LED strips. Check your channel specifications for exact compatibility.
Q: Will I see spots if I use a cover with this channel?
The brightness and number of LED chips per foot determine how seamless your light appears. Most customers find that our Matte Cover eliminates dark spots and creates a continuous line of light. For detailed specifications, check our Diffusion Chart to compare options.
Q: Can I use solderless connectors with this channel?
Yes, many of our solderless connectors work with the Cosmo™ channel. Please visit the downloads section to see our compatibility charts.
If you prefer, you can solder the leads directly onto the strip light instead.
Q: How do I install a surface-mount aluminum channel?
This channel kit includes mounting clips which are the easiest way of installing the channel on a surface. In some cases, you may also be able to screw the channel directly onto the surface. Please check out our downloads section to see the spec sheet and installation guide.
