Bring your space to life with RGB color-changing LED strip lights. Use them to decorate your room, accent cabinets, or outdoor living spaces. Browse our collection and find the perfect light strips for your needs.

How Do I Choose RGB LED Strip Lights?

Choosing the right RGB LED strip lights depends on your project goals. Here’s a quick way to decide:

  • - Brightness: If you’re lighting a large room or need bold color, go with high-density strips like our ColorBright™ RGB 600 Series. For mood lighting or small spaces, RGB 150, 300, RGB+W, or RGB+ Tunable White will do.
  • - Length of Run: For longer installations, 24V RGB strips are more efficient and maintain even brightness throughout. Keep in mind, however, that the brighter the light, the shorter the run.
  • - Installation Location:
    • - Use water-resistant strips for outdoor areas, bathrooms, or kitchens.
    • - Use non-water-resistant options for bedrooms, shelves, or entertainment centers.
  • - Control Method: Need app control or voice assistant compatibility? Our collection features a range of smart RGB controllers to suit any setup.

Quick Tip: Before buying, measure your space and check the voltage, brightness, and IP rating of each strip to ensure the power supply you’ll be using is compatible.

What is Better, 12V or 24V RGB LED Lights?

Unless you’re using a 12V battery or already have a 12V power supply available, 24V RGB LED strips are typically best. Compared to 12V strips, they allow longer max run lengths before needing extra power feeds.

Both 12V and 24V RGB LED lights give you flexible color and brightness options, but 24V systems are more efficient for longer runs. They experience less voltage drop, so the light stays bright and even across the strip.

Here’s a quick breakdown:

  • - 12V RGB strips: Adaptable for shorter runs or smaller projects like under-cabinet lighting or shelves.
  • - 24V RGB strips: Better for longer installations, like ceiling coves or outdoor runs, because they maintain brightness over a greater distance.

While 24V RGB lights are preferable for most projects, Flexfire 12V RGB strips are available by special order only. If you’re considering 12V strips, talk to a Flexfire expert to make sure they’re the right fit and to place an order.

Where Can I Install RGB LED Strip Lights?

RGB LED strips are incredibly flexible and can be used indoors and outdoors (as long as they’re rated for it).

Here are some of the most popular ways to use them:

  • - Under cabinets – for kitchen or dining room accent lighting
  • - Behind TVs or monitors – to reduce eye strain and add ambiance
  • - Along ceilings or coves – for a floating, modern glow
  • - Wet bars - to give your entertainment space a stylish look
  • - Entertainment centers - for cool lighting effects
  • - Home gyms - to provide illumination without harsh lighting
  • - Patios and decks - to create a warm and welcoming outdoor ambiance
  • - Inside cars or RVs – for cool lighting effects or practical lighting

Just be sure to check the IP (Ingress Protection) rating to make sure your strip is water-resistant if it will be used in wet or damp locations.

Can I Cut and Reconnect RGB LED Strip Lights?

Yes, most RGB LED strips can be cut and reconnected to fit your space. Look for the cut lines marked on the strip; that's where you’ll make your cut. These lines are usually found between groups of copper pads.

Important tip: Always check the instructions specific to your LED strip before cutting. Cut locations and connector compatibility can vary by model.

Some of our strips require you to cut just beside the solder pad instead of directly on the line. This allows for extra copper surface area so that solderless connectors can make a solid grip.

Once trimmed, you can reconnect the segments using:

  • - Solderless connectors (quick and tool-free)

  • - Soldering (for a more permanent connection)

We carry a full line of connectors and accessories to make the job easy and clean.
