I use LED's on my Multi-Rotor camera platforms and RC planes. They are both decorative and helpful in tracking the model. The high density of FlexFire LED's makes them exceptional for this purpose. They are also extremely price competitive compared to Hobby Store pricing.

These LED strips are perfect for any lighting needs. I'm using them on my remote controlled multirotor (quad copter) so I can fly at night and they're almost too bright. You can even see them at noon on a sunny day!!
They're also very easy to use. I soldered mine to save weight, but this site sells quick clips that can be used instead to string your various pieces together.
